Friends and Frenemies!

11:51AM - I love my friends

Well, I've been asking my friends about their comfort level regarding me being Lynn around them occasionally. Mike, my really, really, really good friend, that I share most everything with, had this to say about the idea:

"Anyway, last night's question regarding Lynn. While I think it's admirable that you would consider the comfort level of your friends in these things, I think the reality is that you are most likely overaccomodating. If I (or [our friends he lists]) feel uncomfortable hanging around with Lynn, who's problem is it? Hint: Not yours. The fundamental risk with maintaining any relationship (friendships...nodding acquiantance...whatever) is that either you or the other party may upset or disappoint the other. Having encountered that so often lately, I can see how you would prefer to take steps to reduce that risk, but if it is coming at the cost of your own happiness, then there is a problem in my opinion. It's fair to ask to gauge reaction, but I'd only use it for informational purposes and not let it influence your actions.

If it was a personal safety thing, that's a different story. But the places we go these days I wouldn't expect that sort of trouble."

Basically, it's a 'I'll help you move the body' sort of response for me, proving to me that there's very good reason he's my friend. I half expect my other friends to have the same response, albeit less verbose. :)

Literally almost all my friends are going to see TDK in the IMAX, and it turns out that I can't afford it. I can barely afford gas and food right now.

I feel like shit lately.

I have some gorgeous demonia strappy heels. They were cheap and cute. The problem was, they were cheap. They're really uncomfy. Is there anything I can put in for a size 14 woman's heel to help?

5:33PM - What a Nice Night Out

It's really nice when someone cuts through all the negative that society heaps on us, much of it unspoken.

I went out Saturday to a club, after the meeting of my Tri-Ess chapter, since I'd had a dry spell of being Lynn. Unlike before, since I have a friend who was interested in Tracks, that knows about my 'double' life, I asked her if she wanted to come along.

So, we made an evening of it. I had her drive, since she doesn't drink at all these days, buying her sodas for her, as is the tradition when one has a designated driver.

In exchange, I got the profound joy of being around someone who not only isn't judgemental, but has some understanding, and enjoyment that she was seeing me enjoy myself. Apparently, I had one of those unwipeable smiles on my face the whole evening, and it was the most fun that she could recall me having. Normally, when I go to clubs with live music, in boy mode, I sit with my friends, and it would literally take an event of cosmic signifigance to get me out onto the dance floor. Here, as Lynn, with canned music from a DJ, I was out and dancing without prompting, and it's not the first time.

Of course, having now seen this, she's challenged me to start going to local music shows as Lynn by the end of the year. Quite the pushing of boundaries, that, but I do suspect she has a point to that.

But overall? It's nice that I have friends that I can share this with, that don't judge me, and in many ways, encourage me to explore this side of myself.

12:33AM - Makeup for Dummies

Okay, even though I am an actual girl, I have never had anything to do with makeup and stuff. I am seriously considering starting with it now because I feel like changing up my style a bit. (Don't worry, I'd still dress like a boy at the same time :P )
Anywho, I need serious help, and I figured this is the best place to start asking questions, because I know many people here are experienced and creative with their makeup. If you please, I have questions and would appreciate tips.

12:44AM - Camera pans up to Batman dangling criminal off fire escape. He's on a motorcycle.

My brother didn't see TDK on Friday with the rest of us cool peepz, so I took him tonight. After the first time, I wasn't sure whether TDK or Iron Man was better. After the second time, I'm having trouble remembering what was so damn special about Iron Man in the first place. Iron Man did not have a disappearing pencil.

On the subject of Heath Ledger, I was never a huge fangirl of his because let's face it, The Patriot and that other movie with Knight in the title are hard to forgive. He wasn't bad in them; he was just tainted by his participation. (Kidding.) But I will admit, and I would have come to this same conclusion if I'd thought about it before he died, that his performance in Brokeback Mountain was the single most powerful piece of acting I've ever encountered. I cried sporadically for days after seeing that movie, and while I love Jake Gyllenhaal (and his sister, Dark Knight star Jake-Gyllenhaal-in-a-Wig), my little emotional meltdown definitely wasn't his doing. That movie didn't change my life, but it changed me. Just a little nudge, and in a good way, a way that I couldn't really articulate even if I wanted to talk about it. (That's why I have a Very Serious Ennis Icon.) And it was in very large part Heath's doing.

I don't want to say that he's better in TDK than he was in BBM, but he's close. Really close. And considering I'm comparing him in a role that changed the way I think about some real issues and a role as a villain in a movie about a guy in a bat costume, that's fucking saying something.

I can live whether or not they give him an Oscar. But I feel at this point they should just declare the role of the Joker closed and retire the character from film, because I feel bad for anyone who tries to follow that.

Also, I will bake the first decent hospital!Joker cosplayer a plate of cupcakes. GO!

3:00PM - its been forever

Its been forever since i Updated. you havnt heard or seen me in like 4 years lol Ive been doing well. kinda. My home life sucks more than ever. as per usual im given tons of slack because of my lifestyle choice, i plan on moving out as soon as i can get a decent paying job. as well ive been thinking more and more and more about taking the plunge and transitioning to becoming a full lady. reguardless there will be lazer hair removal on my face, i hate facial hair, i can not deal with it, yet my face is so sensitave that i dont shave on a daily basis, just once or twice a week because my face is so sensitave I have some pics when a close friend of mne did me up. which will be behind the cut. ive also learned a LOT about my sexuality in the past few years, I am Bisexual, its only at this point 70/30, but it is there. and i havnt tried anything with a male so i dont know. anyways im just more and more unsure of who i am currently. i dress like a male most of the time 90% because if i dress how i feel i should i get slack like woah. i NEED to move out, i am in an area that is more accepting of my lifestyle so going out isnt to much of an issue, its just my home life. my Aunt...... to say the least is un educated, and uneducateable on the sublect. so eh. anyways whatever happens happens. im just gonna take life one day at a time.

Last night, as a present for Mei, I set up the tripod and the self-timer and took several pictures of myself dressed up. She loved them and was squeeing all night! But this got me to thinking - when I set up this account originally, I was a little concerned about privacy. As you may notice, most of my photo icons suffer from the dread Internet Headlessness disease.

We've got many wonderful people here who don't seem to fear being out, posting lovely full-body shots and even dropping the occasional personal detail. How do the people in this community deal with this issue? What gives you the confidence to open yourselves to the 'Net, or alternately, what's made you decide to stay safely behind anonymity for now?

I'd love to hear some thoughts.
